IEA CONSULTING provides independent solar performance monitoring, reporting, project coordination, and related assessment services to homeowners and/or businesses in South Africa.

From Your Solar Monitoring Platform
Once access is granted, we collect production, consumption, battery, grid-interaction, and any other necessary data from your system's monitoring platform for the purpose of generating performance reports.

We do not collect any more information than is reasonably necessary to provide our services.
3. Why We Collect and Use Your Information

Your solar monitoring platform provider, to the extent necessary to retrieve your system's performance data, using the access you have specifically authorized

Software and hosting providers we use to run our business (e.g. website hosting, spreadsheet/document tools, email, payment processing) - these providers process data on our behalf and are expected to maintain appropriate security

Your installer, where relevant to your system's monitoring access or documentation

Legal or regulatory authorities, where required by law
Some of the tools we use to operate our business may store or process data on servers located outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to receive an equivalent level of protection, as required by POPIA.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties for marketing purposes.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against loss, unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure, including:

Using encrypted storage for sensitive credentials where technically supported
No system can guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to addressing any data security incident promptly and in line with our obligations under POPIA.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as you remain an active client, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations, or to resolve disputes. You may request earlier deletion of your information as described in Section 9, subject to any legal requirement that we retain certain records.

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies, including those built into our website platform (e.g. Wix), for purposes such as basic site functionality and understanding how visitors use this site. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some website functionality.

Our services are intended for use by adult homeowners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate parental or guardian consent.

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy will indicate when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated to active clients directly.
